Portuguese vs Spanish
A Brazilian once told me that Portuguese speakers can understand more Spanish than Spanish speakers can understand Portuguese. Do you think this is true? If so, how? It seems to me that if the languages are related enough to allow one to understand the other, it should work both ways.
