Present Participle
The English present participle is the -ing form of the verb. In Spanish, it's
the -ndo form. The Spanish present participle has two main uses: as a gerund
and in progressive tenses.

Discusiones
Americano vs Estadounidense
When I say "americano," I am politely reminded that "americano" is used by all
Spanish speakers in the Western Hemisphere to describe themselves as we are all
"Americans.". Yet when I used the phrase "futbol
estadounidense" to talk about American football, I was told I should say "futbol americano". I am a little confused.
What are the grammar rules concerning americano or estadounidense?
